The Challenge (The Prompt)

The objective was to create a complete visual identity for Bennett Plumbing, a fictional service-based company. The brand needed to balance "rugged reliability" with "modern professionalism" to stand out in a competitive local market.

The Goal: Develop a cohesive system that works across digital interfaces (website), physical assets (print materials), and internal standards (brand guidelines).

Target Audience: Homeowners and property managers looking for trustworthy, high-end plumbing services.

The Strategy: Building the Foundation (Structure)

I approached this project by creating a Brand Hierarchy before any design began.

Visual Language: I chose a high-contrast palette of blue (representing water/trust) and orange/yellow (representing action/caution/tools).

Typography: Selected a bold, sans-serif typeface to convey stability and strength, ensuring readability on both service trucks and mobile screens.

Execution: Multi-Channel Problem Solving

To demonstrate Clarity, I applied the brand across three distinct mediums:

A. Digital: The Concept Website

  • User-Centric Design:
Focused on a "Conversion-First" layout. I prioritized the "Request a Quote" and "Emergency Services" buttons, solving the common user problem of struggling to find contact info during a plumbing crisis.
  • Architecture:
Used a clean, modular structure that translates well to mobile devices, ensuring the "problem" (a leak) is met with an immediate "solution" (the contact form).

B. Standards: The Brand Guidelines

Clarity in Consistency:
I authored a comprehensive Brand Guidelines document. This solves the problem of "Brand Dilution" by providing future designers or employees with strict rules on logo clear space, color codes (HEX/CMYK), and typography usage.

C. Physical: Print Materials

Real-World Application:
Designed business cards and service brochures that maintain the brand’s visual weight. I focused on information hierarchy - ensuring the service list was easy to scan at a glance.

Technical Reflection (Problem Solving)

The Problem: How do you make a "boring" industry like plumbing look modern and premium?

The Fix: I moved away from "cartoonish" plumbing tropes (like pipes or wrenches) and focused on clean geometric shapes and professional UI. By treating a plumbing company with the same design rigor as a tech startup, I created a brand that feels more reliable and high-value.

The Result

Comprehensive Deliverables: A fully functional brand ecosystem from logo to live web concept.

Project Status: This project served as a cornerstone of the Web and Graphic Design curriculum, demonstrating my ability to manage a project from the initial "Discovery" phase through to "Final Handoff."
